Penetrating Brain & Spine Injury
Overview
This course will review penetrating brain injury classification and terminology. Faculty will discuss clinical research as well as medical and surgical treatment options.
Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Identify predictors of positive patient outcomes for penetrating brain injury
  • Differentiate between ballistic properties that result in wound injuries vs. terminal/fatal injuries
  • Discuss the role of medical and surgical treatment options for penetrating brain injury
