Update on Techniques and Equipment for Neurosurgical Patient Positioning
Course Overview
Video recording of a practical course at the 2019 AANS Annual Scientific Meeting.  This session will update participants on the latest developments and devices for positioning patients safely for neurosurgical procedures. Perioperative considerations and complication avoidance will be reviewed and participants will have an opportunity to gain hands-on practice.
The AANS designates this activity for a maximum of 4.0AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM.

After completing this educational activity, participants should be able to:

  • Review perioperative considerations for positioning patients for spinal and cranial neurosurgical procedures.
  • Describe the equipment needed to best position patients for neurosurgical procedures.
  • Review the proper positioning for a wide range of cranial and spinal procedures.
