Neurosurgical Focus covers a different topic in-depth each month. Enhanced by color images and video clips, each peer-reviewed issue constitutes a state-of-the-art “textbook chapter” in the field of neurosurgery. 

While Neurosurgical Focus is open-access and has been free to the public since 1996, claiming CME credit is free only for AANS members. Each monthly issue offers 3 credits - earn up to 36 CME annually.

Objectives

Upon completion of this CME activity, participants should be able to:

  • The participant will develop a better understanding of epilepsy surgery including neuro-imaging for detection of epileptic lesions and the emergence of novel and minimally invasive approaches to treating epilepsy patients
  • The participant will develop a greater knowledge of short and long-term outcomes as well as methods to minimize complications for epilepsy surgery.
  • The participant will learn about the cost effectiveness of epilepsy surgery.
  • The participant will gain a greater appreciation of emerging technologies in epilepsy surgery including robotics, laser interstitial thermal therapy, and neurostimulation.
