Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this CME activity, participants should be able to:

  1. The reader will develop a better understanding of sacroiliac joint anatomy, physiologic function, and common symptoms of sacroiliac joint dysfunction
  2. The reader will develop a greater knowledge of the prevalence of sacroiliac joint dysfunction, how it can appear similar to lumbar spine dysfunction, and how to differentiate sacroiliac pathology from lumbar pathology
  3. The reader will learn about the diagnosis of sacroiliac dysfunction, different treatment strategies for sacroiliac joint dysfunction and their efficacy, and minimizing risks of sacroiliac joint surgery
  4. The reader will gain a greater appreciation of the burden of sacroiliac joint disease, management strategies for sacroiliac joint pain, and the anatomy and function of the sacroiliac joint.
