Neurosurgical Focus covers a different topic in-depth each month. Enhanced by color images and video clips, each peer-reviewed issue constitutes a state-of-the-art “textbook chapter” in the field of neurosurgery. 

While Neurosurgical Focus is open-access and has been free to the public since 1996, claiming CME credit is free only for AANS members. Each monthly issue offers 3 credits - earn up to 36 CME annually.

Objectives

Upon completion of this CME activity, participants should be able to:

  • Discuss pediatric neuro-oncology including both benign and malignant pediatric brain and spine tumors.
  • Express a greater knowledge of basic, preclinical and clinical paradigms of pediatric neuro-oncology.
  • Identify molecular stratification of tumors (genomic, expressomic, and epigenetic), targeted therapeutics, clinical trials within the molecular landscape, immune-therapy, precision medicine, molecular diagnostics, liquid biopsy of cerebrospinal fluid and blood, machine learning/artificial intelligence based analysis, impacts of operative management, treatment options in very young patients, congenital tumors, new WHO tumor entities, genetic predisposition syndromes, irradiation therapy, focused ultrasound, convection enhanced delivery, and laser interstitial thermal therapy.
  • Review the complexities of pediatric neuro-oncology patient management.
